Ох ты, радость-то какая! Неожиданно выяснилось, что по "Удушью" Паланика только сняли фильмец! И более того - его прямо завтра можно сходить и посмотреть. Чертовски любопытно, как они отснимут это адское философское месиво из секса, мизогинии, религиозного стёба, поисков смысла жизни и десятков других символов и аллюзий.

Пожалуй, "Удушье" должно было стать продолжением и противопоставлением "Бойцовского Клуба". В "Клубе" анархия подавалась единственной альтернативой тотальному конформизму. А тут показывается, что и вся эта антисоциальщина бесплодна. "We've taken the world apart... but we have no idea what to do with the pieces." И единственный правильный путь - это свой собственный, сознательно выбранный.

We can spend our lives letting the world tell us who we are. Sane or insane. Saints or sex addicts. Heros or victims. Letting history tell us how good or bad we are. Letting our past decide our future. Or we can decide for ourselves. And maybe it's our job to invent something better.

Да и вообще, книга была просто кладезью мыслей и цитат:

Вот только после истории с экранизацией BringingDown the House в виде 21 я несколько настороженно отношусь к экранизациям известных книг (да, к Обитаемому Острову - тоже).

Ну ничего, сходим - посмотрим...

Я еще в прошлом году смотрел. Средненько, на троечку. Желания уйти с середины сеанса не возникает, но и желания пересмотреть - тоже.

Смотрела осенью - мне понравилось! Только почему-то есть ощущение, что книжка кончалась не так. А Сэм Рокуэлл - 100%-ное попадание.

Судя по тем обрывкам "Обитаемого острова", которые показывают на ТВ, у борданчука получилось довольно фекально. :( Ню-ню... посмотрю все равно. Надо убедиццо собственными глазами.

В 35мм дают, на Новокузнецкой. Неплохо вышло, конец может смазан, но несильно. Сходить стоит.
